A Leicester City Council van has been slapped with a ticket by one of the authority's own parking wardens. Onlookers appeared to be amused by the incident, which happened today, (Thursday, September 19) near the Clock Tower in Leicester's city centre.

Craig, a photojournalist from Leicester Media, captured the image above. He said: "Lots of [people were] just laughing and taking pictures of the ticket." The area around the Clock Tower is pedestrianised.

The standard parking fine in Leicester is £70, reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days. We have approached the city council for comment.
