Leicester 0-3 Chelsea FC LIVE! Pulisic goal - Premier League result, match stream and latest updates today

Leicester vs Chelsea - LIVE!

Christian Pulisic came off the bench and was back among the goals as Premier League leaders Chelsea extended their advantage at the top of the table to six points with a comfortable 3-0 win at Leicester City.

The visitors raced into a two-goal lead inside 28 minutes after Antonio Rudiger headed home from a corner, before N’Golo Kante fire in a left-footed strike from outside the box. The former Leicester man was sensational on his return to the King Power.

Leicester improved after the break, but Chelsea remained in control and put the game to bed, when Pulisic combined with fellow substitute Hakim Ziyech well and and scored in the 71st minute.

The victory, Chelsea’s fifth from six away league games this season, moved the Blues onto 29 points, six clear of second-placed champions Manchester City, who play West Ham United on Sunday.

Relentless Chelsea make title statement and rivals should be worried

The manager’s full reaction

14:54 , Matt Verri

Tuchel on Rudiger

14:43 , Matt Verri

“Everybody wants him to stay, this is pretty clear.

“Sometimes there is a delay in these things, and there is obviously a delay. He knows what he has - a fantastic club in a fantastic league.

“He’s a competitor. We’ll have a bit of patience, and hopefully a happy ending.”

Tuchel on Kante

14:38 , Matt Verri

“We saw a fantastic goal. N’Golo is outstanding, he seems to find another gear all the time on the pitch.

“Excellent performance from him. Very happy that he’s back, that he feels good, and that he’s with a free mind.

“When he does this with a free mind he can be the difference.”

Leicester 0-3 Chelsea

It looked at the start of the second-half like we might have a game on our hands, with the Foxes much improved and threatening to get a goal back.

But when Pulisic came off the bench to make it three, that was game over.

Another impressive display from Tuchel’s side.

14:19 , Matt Verri

90+1 mins: Three minutes added on. Both sides passing it around under very little pressure when they get the ball now.

14:16 , Matt Verri

88 mins: Chilwell really is just playing wherever he wants.

He pops up on the edge of the box, and has a long-range effort. Well over.

ANOTHER OFFSIDE!

14:13 , Matt Verri

85 mins: It’s the third goal Chelsea have had ruled out in about ten minutes!

Chilwell again the guilty party. Play continued for about 30 seconds, before Reece James fired across goal brilliantly and into the far corner. But he is denied!

14:11 , Matt Verri

83 mins: Maddison with another decent strike, saved by Mendy. Corner Leicester, which is cleared behind for another corner.

Second attempt has way too much on it, and it’s out for a goal kick.

OFFSIDE!

14:09 , Matt Verri

81 mins: Pulisic thinks he has his second, but the offside flag is up.

Rudiger flicks it over the top to Chilwell, who cuts it back to Pulisic for a thumping finish, but the wing-back was just offside.

14:06 , Matt Verri

78 mins: Jorginho off, Loftus-Cheek on. Looks like the midfielder might have had a slight hamstring problem.

Here’s how Chelsea put the game to bed...

James Robson at the King Power

14:05 , Matt Verri

That will finish it. What fight Leicester had has just been knocked out of them.

It was a classic case of the next goal being vital. At 3-0 there is no way back for the home side.

14:03 , Matt Verri

75 mins: Hudson-Odoi scores into an empty net, but that will be ruled out for offside.

Leicester were having a really good spell, but that goal has finished this match and Chelsea are back to dominating possession.

GOAL! Leicester 0-3 Chelsea | Christian Pulisic 71'

14:00 , Matt Verri

They combine this time!

Ziyech again cuts onto his left-foot, the Leicester defence should really be expecting that.

Pulisic runs into the six-yard box, Evans doesn’t react, and the American fires it past Schmeichel on the stretch.

James Robson at the King Power

13:57 , Matt Verri

Whatever Rodgers said to his players at half time has had an impact. Leicester will feel that a goal could turn this game.

Notable that Tuchel has decided to make changes. It was beginning to look stale up front and Mount was very subdued.

13:56 , Matt Verri

68 mins: The two Chelsea subs very nearly combined to make it 3-0.

Ziyech cuts inside, and whips a low cross into the near post. Pulisic gets in front of Amartey, but he can’t quite get the effort on target.

13:53 , Matt Verri

65 mins: Leicester’s best chance of the match. Maddison with a lovely cross into the box, Vardy slightly having to stretch behind him, and he can only direct the header over the bar.

Mendy booked for time wasting... bit early for that!

13:52 , Matt Verri

63 mins: WOW! The ball rolls to Amartey, who must be at least 30 yards out. He cuts across it, and it’s destined for the top corner, but Mendy tips it behind. Brilliant strike.

Leicester starting to put some pressure on the Chelsea defence.

13:50 , Matt Verri

61 mins: Leicester getting plenty of practice defending corners, but they’re doing better at defending them this half.

Hudson-Odoi cuts inside with a lovely dummy, but his effort into the far corner is just too high. Well worked.

Pulisic and Ziyech going to come on for Chelsea. Havertz and Mount the two making way.

13:47 , Matt Verri

59 mins: Albrighton with a looping ball into the box... Mendy comes for it, and gets nowhere near it. It bounces off James, and luckily straight into the goalkeeper’s arms.

That was unconvincing, to say the least.

13:46 , Matt Verri

58 mins: Leicester with a shot! And a shot on target at that.

Maddison from outside the box, onto his left foot... but it’s a comfortable save for Mendy. Had to hold it, with Vardy ready for any rebound.

13:44 , Matt Verri

56 mins: Kante is playing superbly. Turns into space, and fires a great ball into Havertz. He plays it out wide to Hudson-Odoi, and it’s another corner for Chelsea.

Schmeichel off his line to punch it away.

13:42 , Matt Verri

54 mins: SAVE! Hudson-Odoi has Amartey just where he wants him, back-peddling into the box. All came from a great ball from Silva.

The winger lays it off to Chilwell, who catches it sweetly but Schmeichel gets down well to palm it behind for a corner. Leicester defend the set-piece better this time.

13:41 , Matt Verri

52 mins: Leicester far more competitive off the ball, closing down Chelsea well. Vardy standing right on Silva, ready for any kind of ball over the top.

13:38 , Matt Verri

50 mins: Final ball again not quite there from Chelsea.

Chilwell has Havertz and Mount free in the middle, but he can’t get it through to them and Leicester can clear.

13:37 , Matt Verri

48 mins: Leicester looking to be more direct, hitting it long towards Iheanacho when they can. He and Rudiger already having a physical tussle.

13:34 , Matt Verri

46 mins: It’s a bright start right from the off.

Vardy played in down the left channel, played onside by Rudiger. Ball into the cross is weak, and Mendy and can claim easily.

Players back out

13:33 , Matt Verri

James Maddison going to come on for Leicester, Rodgers knows he needs to do something. Harvey Barnes making way.

Iheanacho also introduced, Lookman off.

Action underway shortly...

13:27 , Matt Verri

Nine shots, four on target, and two corners for Chelsea.

Zero on all counts for Leicester.

Big improvement needed in the second half from the home side.

James Robson at the King Power

13:19 , Matt Verri

Boos as Leicester leave the pitch at half time. It is definitely directed at the referee, rather than the players. The officials are being jeered all the way off the pitch.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have been excellent. Fantastic work rate, quick on the break. With a bit more precision with their final ball and they would be much farther ahead.

HALF TIME

13:17 , Matt Verri

HT: Leicester 0-2 Chelsea

The Blues completely in control. Rudiger and Kante with the goals, and Chelsea are well worth the lead they have.

Leicester have looked shaky at the back, and offered very little in an attacking sense. It’s a bad combination.

13:16 , Matt Verri

45+1 mins: Reece James takes this time... straight into the wall. Chalobah has a wild swing at the rebound, but his effort barely goes forward.

13:16 , Matt Verri

45 mins: Mendy pings a ball to the halfway line, and Chelsea are once again away on the break.

Havertz turns well, and bursts into the space. He has Hudson-Odoi to his left, but delays making the pass. The German eventually goes to shoot on the edge of the box, but Evans slides in and brings him down. Free-kick, and yellow card.

Schmeichel also into the book now. Dangerous position for Chelsea this.

James Robson at the King Power

13:13 , Matt Verri

Kante is playing in a far more attacking role than usual.

Tuchel has clearly seen that as an area Chelsea could exploit today, with the Frenchman constantly in and around the box when they attack.

13:12 , Matt Verri

41 mins: Leicester enjoying a slightly better period, getting balls into the box, but they can’t create anything.

With Lookman’s goal being disallowed, they still haven’t officially had a shot in the match.

13:09 , Matt Verri

38 mins: Nice turn from Barnes, and Kante fouls him. Ironic cheers from the crowd as the referee blows for the free-kick. Defenders coming up for Leicester.

Lookman lifts it in, and it’s a poor ball in. Havertz heads it away.

Chelsea break with Hudson-Odoi, and it eventually comes to Chilwell. He gets to the byline, stands a ball up to the far post... Havertz goes for the bicycle kick, but Kante bundles into him and puts his teammate off!

13:06 , Matt Verri

35 mins: Chelsea fans in good voice, enjoying their away day so far.

Leicester struggling to get any sort of sustained possession. Barnes, Vardy and Lookman getting no real service.

Kante doubles the lead

13:03 , Matt Verri

13:02 , Matt Verri

31 mins: Chelsea threatening to blow Leicester away now. Schmeichel gives it away, but Hudson-Odoi can’t quite find Havertz in the middle and the hosts can scramble it away.

The Foxes are really struggling here.

GOAL! Leicester 0-2 Chelsea | N’Golo Kante 28’

12:59 , Matt Verri

IT’S TWO!

Kante picked up the ball, and he was just allowed to drive, and drive, and drive. Nobody comes out to close him down, so on the edge of the box he eventually decides to let fly.

Left-footed strike, and it’s a brilliant effort. Schmeichel can’t do anything about it.

James Robson at the King Power

12:56 , Matt Verri

Chelsea are in control here. Typically they have scored with the most difficult of all the chances they have created.

Rudiger’s flicked header was unstoppable - but Chelwell should have done better with only Schmeichel to beat earlier and Kante was also denied when one-on-one.

That will be the only concern for Tuchel, but his side do look like they can create chances at will here.

GOAA.... NO!

12:55 , Matt Verri

24 mins: Vardy runs at the defence, but he’s forced to keep possession and turn back.

He lays it off to Albrighton, who takes a touch and whips it into the box. Lookman volleys it past Mendy and into the net, but he’s just offside. Better from Leicester though.

12:52 , Matt Verri

22 mins: Amartey lunges in and fouls Hudson-Odoi right on the edge of the box. This is a really dangerous position. There’s about five Chelsea players who fancy this.

Mount seems to have persuaded most of his teammates to leave it for him. It is Mount... couldn’t get it to come down in time.

12:51 , Matt Verri

20 mins: Big chance for Leicester to create something.

Jorginho gets caught on the ball, and it’s briefly three-on-two for the hosts. Lookman tries to slide the ball through to Vardy, but Silva steps out to claim and stop the attack.

Here is that opening goal

12:49 , Matt Verri

12:48 , Matt Verri

17 mins: Leicester hanging on for dear life.

Kante is through on goal, tries to lift it over Schmeichel, but he scuffs it straight into the keeper. It comes back out to Havertz who has a shot, which is blocked. Should really have passed it wide out to James, who was free.

Leicester again don’t defend the corner well, but Chelsea can’t get on the end of it this time.

GOAL! Leicester 0-1 Chelsea | Antonio Rudiger 14'

12:44 , Matt Verri

And it leads to the opening goal!

So, so simple. Chilwell takes the corner, Rudiger wins the header, and he’s able to flick it into the far corner.

Really good finish, as he was moving backwards when he made contact. Such a soft goal to concede from Leicester.

12:43 , Matt Verri

12 mins: 77% possession for Chelsea so far, they’re playing all the football in the early stages. That Chilwell effort the only chance they’ve been able to create though.

James whips an early ball in, and it’s deflected behind for a corner.

12:41 , Matt Verri

10 mins: Mount cuts inside onto his right foot and tries to curl a ball in towards Havertz, but there’s too much on the cross and it floats away for a goal-kick.

James Robson at the King Power

12:39 , Matt Verri

Chelsea already looking a threat down the wings. Leicester can see a clear out ball in Vardy though and the ease with which he beat Silva earlier will be a concern.

12:38 , Matt Verri

8 mins: Mount and Chilwell make a mess of it as they try and combine, and Leicester can regain possession.

Chilwell and James looking dangerous already though, picking up from where they left off before the break.

12:36 , Matt Verri

5 mins: Safe to say the Leicester fans enjoyed that Chilwell miss. Not exactly a warm welcome for their former player.

The home side get to break for the first time in the match, Vardy down the left wing. His ball across almost finds Lookman for a tap in, but Rudiger is alert to clear the danger.

12:34 , Matt Verri

3 mins: HUGE CHANCE.

Jorginho takes a free-kick in the Chelsea half quickly, and it’s a brilliant ball through to Chilwell. He’s in on goal, clean through... hammers an effort against the bar.

12:32 , Matt Verri

2 mins: Vardy pressing hard early on, closing down Mendy at every opportunity.

Ball is lobbed forward to Havertz, and Evans wins the header but clatters the German as he does so.

WE’RE OFF!

I’m slightly surprised to see Silva start. Tuchel was concerned about the amount of travel he has had over the past week, plus you wonder if he needs someone like Vardy running at him.

The inclusion of Chalobah shows just how highly Tuchel rates him. If Chelsea had succeeded in signing Kounde this summer, Chalobah would almost certainly have been sent out on loan. Now he’s starting in the Premier League for the sixth time already this season.

Selection problems

12:17 , Matt Verri

Tuchel says Pulisic only arrived back at the club on Thursday, with Thiago Silva back yesterday. On his decision to start Chalobah over Christensen:

“Rotation. Trevoh deserves it. He is a good fit with his speed and height for set pieces so he deserves to play. Normal rotation.”

Chance for Chelsea

12:06 , Matt Verri

Early kick-off gives Thomas Tuchel’s side the chance to go six points clear of Man City and West Ham for the time being.

They had a frustrating result against Burnley just before the international break, drawing 1-1 at home, but they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways this afternoon.

With Mount back and Werner on the bench, Chelsea look in good health.

Soon, Romelu Lukaku’s return will add to that and really boost Thomas Tuchel ahead of the arduous winter to come.

Transfer interest in Chelsea stars

11:14 , Jonathan Gorrie

‘Defenders Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta are all out of contract next summer and can speak to interested clubs from January.

It is a remarkable position for a club of Chelsea’s stature to find themselves in — and in ordinary circumstances would be a major cause of disruption to a team with ambitions of winning the title.

Instead, that quartet continue to be the platform of Tuchel’s revolution, with Chelsea boasting the meanest defence in the top-flight, having conceded only four goals this season, two of which were penalties.’

Prediction

10:57 , Jonathan Gorrie

While Chelsea did struggle to finish against Burnley, they had hit ten in their previous two Premier League outings prior to that and are facing off against a side who have kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season.

Chelsea to win 2-0.

Early team news

10:50 , Jonathan Gorrie

Lukaku was recently pictured back in training, though it remains to be seen as to whether or not Tuchel turns to him after four games out.

Mason Mount could come back into the side after his dental surgery although Timo Werner is expected to continue to miss out as he recovers from a hamstring injury of his own.

Christian Pulisic could also feature after scoring for the United States over the course of the international break.
