A Leicestershire pub is closing to make way for “exciting changes”. Bosses have teased an imminent relaunch as part of the changes.

The Oadby Owl, in Glen Road, closes later today (Sunday, June 9) ahead of what is being billed as a “six-figure investment and rebrand”. The pub is currently part of the Hungry Horse group but is making the transition to the Greene King brand of pubs.

Exact details on the changes are unknown at this stage. Bosses have said that the Oadby Owl will undergo “major renovations” as part of the investment though.

The Oadby Owl team have said their closure is only temporary as they welcome in a raft of “exciting changes”. They said: “We’ll be saying goodbye for a little while as we make some exciting changes here at the Oadby Owl. Keep checking for updates on the changes and the plans for our exciting relaunch events.”

The six-figure rebrand is expected to be completed by mid-July. The pub’s reopening date has yet to be announced.
