Leigh Leopards dealt fresh injury blow with England international ruled out

Leigh Leopards have received another injury blow, with Robbie Mulhern set for another spell on the sidelines. The prop was withdrawn in the early stages of the club's victory over Huddersfield Giants and did not return, with the club now expecting the England international to miss another period of time.

Scans will confirm the extent of the injury but Mulhern is set to miss around a month of action, which will see him miss their game against his former club, Hull KR, at Craven Park this weekend.

Mulhern has already missed some games due to injury this year and Lam said: "We get some scans tonight and will know by Thursday. We fear that may be four weeks plus but fingers crossed, it's not like that, but it's looking that way. We'll get on with it as we have done, but he's going to be a big miss.

It's the other calf, ironically. What he's done for us, he's frustrated that he's not playing because he loves it around here and pulling on the Leopards jersey and when he's played, he's lifted us to another level, he's had a similar influence to Tom Amone and Edwin Ipape. We're going to miss him but it gives us another opportunity."

The game will come too soon for Gareth O'Brien, who is back running but not ready to return to action. The fullback should be back after the break for the Challenge Cup Final when they face Catalans Dragons.
