Leisure centre forced to close after freak flooding hits Gloucestershire
A leisure centre in Cheltenham is closed today (Saturday, September 21) following freak flooding throughout Gloucestershire. Leisure at Cheltenham will reopen on Sunday, with a full reopening of its facilities on Monday.
The leisure centre initially announced its closure on Friday, September 20 on Facebook: "Leisure at Cheltenham will not be open tomorrow (Saturday 21 September) due to the damage caused by the unforeseen weather conditions. We will keep you updated when we are able to reopen.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience."

The leisure centre is far from the only place impacted by the dramatic weather: last night (Friday, September 20), Gloucestershire Police warned motorists not to travel that night following the flooding unless "absolutely necessary". There were also a number of road closures.
Leisure at Cheltenham have confirmed they will reopen on Sunday, thought some facilities will remain closed: "Leisure at Cheltenham will reopen tomorrow (Sunday 22 September). All facilities will be available, except the teaching pool and splash pad, which will reopen on Monday 23 September in the afternoon.
