Leisure centre shuts swimming pool due to 'unforeseen circumstances'

A leisure centre has shut its swimming pool today. The decision means swimming lessons and sessions are cancelled at Stone Leisure Centre tonight.

The pool will be back open at the Stafford Road centre on Saturday morning. The new-look leisure centre has been open since 2019.

In a social media post to users, Stone Leisure Centre stated: "Unfortunately we have had to close our swimming pool this evening due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologise for any inconvenience. All swimming lessons and pool sessions are cancelled for tonight. All sessions will be running as normal in the morning. The gym and classes are not impacted."
