Lemmy Kilmister Laid To Rest: Over 230,000 Fans Tune In

More than 230,000 fans tuned into the online livestream of Lemmy Kilmister’s funeral service yesterday.

The Motörhead singer and bassist was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Los Angeles after he tragically passed away in December - just two days after finding out that he had an “extremely aggressive” form of cancer.

A number of stars paid tribute to Lemmy with speeches, but it was his son Paul who was most praised for his poignant tribute to his father.

He said: “He wasn’t a religious man and praying for a miracle was something he would have viewed as a delusional act, but he was profoundly spiritual.

"Travel well, my dear father. You are back out on the road for a longest tour to the great gig in the sky.”

The altar was adorned with four amps, a bottle of Jack Daniels, a hat, and a pair of cowboy boots with the likes of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Gene Simmons, Dave Grohl and Slash attending the congregation.

The service concluded with a round of applause when the sound of feedback from Lemmy’s bass guitar, which had been plugged into the amp, echoed in the room.
