We're still not sure how Strictly Come Dancing is going to work without Len Goodman yelling severrrrrn for every other performance, but he's given his replacement his stamp of approval.

Shirley Ballas takes over from Len in the upcoming series after he stepped down as Head Judge on the show.

"I've judged her at thousands of competitions and I taught her and her husband Corky, and there's no-one who knows their ballroom and Latin like her," he told The Mirror.

"Fantastic, wonderful dancer, far better than I ever was."

That sounds amazing to us – and we can't wait to see her in action later this year when she joins fellow judges Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.

Things are getting very exciting in Camp Strictly at the moment, with the reveal of all the participating celebrities coming one at a time – as per Strictly tradition.

Comedian Brian Conley, This Morning's Ruth Langsford, former Emmerdale actress Gemma Atkinson and former member of The Saturdays, Mollie King have all signed up.

Representing the boybands this year is JLS singer Aston Merrygold, plus EastEnders' Davood Ghadami, who plays Kush Kazemi.

There's also Holby City's Joe McFadden, BBC Radio 4 favourite Reverend Richard Coles, Sunday Brunch star Simon Rimmer and finally, Susan Calman, who presents on Radio 4 and CBBC show Top Class.

And if that's not enough, there's a fair few newbie professionals who are hopefully going to whip that crop of celebs into performing a decent jive.

Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell and Nadiya Bychkova have been unveiled as the replacements for Natalie Lowe, Oksana Platero and reigning champion Joanne Clifton, who have all departed the ballroom series.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in September 2017.
