Les Dennis praises 'some of best food I've ever had' on visit to 'community gem' restaurant
Legendary entertainer Les Dennis made an unexpected visit to a popular restaurant in the region last night.
The ex-Coronation Street star and former Family Fortunes host popped into Little Sicily in Sedgefield on Saturday, delighting locals who were at the restaurant. Taking a break between performances of Ghost at Darlington Hippodrome, Les couldn’t resist trying the local favourite, a Parmo, although he admitted it was “too cheesy” for his liking.
For his main meal, he opted for a Penne Arrabiata. Les ended the night on a sweet note, indulging in a dessert platter featuring cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding, and brownie.
He was full of praise for the restaurant, calling it “a real community gem” and adding, “The hospitality has been extraordinary, and the food is some of the best I’ve ever had. If I wasn’t heading home, I’d be back for Sunday lunch!”
Customers were thrilled to spot the TV legend. Emma Russell, manager of Little Sicily, shared, “It was such a shock to have Les Dennis visit! He was so friendly, chatting with staff and taking selfies with customers who recognised him. It was a real honour for us.”
With Little Sicily recently undergoing a major transformation, Les Dennis’ surprise visit was the cherry on top of an exciting new chapter for the restaurant.
