Leslie Jordan: Dolly Parton, Cardi B and Sean Hayes remember star following his death

Tributes have poured in for beloved actor Leslie Jordan following his tragic death, aged 67.

The Tennesse native known for his memorable roles on Will & Grace, American Horror Story and the currently airing Call Me Kat died in a car crash on Monday morning in Hollywood after suffering a reported medical emergency.

In light of his tragic passing, celebrities have taken to social media to remember the icon who spread joy and laughter with millions on Instagram videos at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Country icon Dolly Parton, 76, penned a heartbreaking tribute to Jordan.

She wrote: “Well I am as hurt and shocked as if I have lost a family member. Leslie and I had a special bond, I think the world felt they had a special bond with him.

“I know people always say, ‘Oh, they will be missed’ but in this case that could not be more true. He will be missed by everyone who knew him personally and by everyone who was entertained by him. Rest in peace lil’ brother.”

Jordan’s co-star on Will & Grace Sean Hayes said his “heart is broken” as he paid tribute on Instagram.

He shared: “My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him.

“There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. Leslie, you will be missed, my dear friend.”

Fellow Will & Grace star Eric McCormack remembered Jordan on Twitter.

McCormack wrote: “Crushed to learn about the loss of @thelesliejordan, the funniest & flirtiest southern gent I’ve ever known.

“The joy and laughter he brought to every one of his #WillandGrace episodes was palpable. Gone about thirty years too soon. You were loved, sweet man.”

Oscar winner Viola Davis shared her condolescenes on Twitter and recalled memories of working with Jordan on The Help.

She tweeted: “Oh no!!! Leslie!! I have nothing but the fondest memories of you while filming The Help. I'd never been in the presence of anyone who loved life and people as much as you.

“Your heart was as big as your humor. You lived. You took up space. You were present. Rest well!”

Michelle Pfeiffer also paid tribute saying: “Just heard the devastating news of the beloved Leslie Jordan’s passing. Leslie was such a light for so many.

“Generously gifting the world with his love and humor, especially during this lockdown; one of our bleakest and loneliest times."

“He lived everyday to bring joy to every one he came in contact with. Such a talent. Such an extraordinary human being. Such a loss. Rest well my friend.”

Actress Sharon Stone posted a selfie Jordan had previously shared and wrote, “There will never be another you.”

Rapper Cardi B shared the news of Jordan’s death on her social media and penned, “I love you” after his reaction to her and Megan Thee Stallion’s 2020 track WAP went viral.

Dylan McDermott also remembered his American Horror Story costar and “wonderful friend” on social media.

McDermott shared: "We lost a great one today. @thelesliejordan was a wonderful friend to me. Leslie and I met on American Horror Story and made each other laugh.

“We talked on the phone recently about doing another show together as twin brothers. He truly was my brother. Love you Leslie. I will miss you dearly…”

Comedian Loni Love recalled how Jordan inspired her and remembered the “fun” he brought to set.

She wrote: “The last time I worked with Leslie Jordan… we guest co hosted The Talk.. Leslie was so much fun to be around, always had a funny story and he inspired me to keep going in an industry that could be ageist … I will miss you my friend.. Mama is waiting on you.”

Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter shared her appreciation for Jordan’s light-hearted pandemic videos and the joy he brought to many during such difficult times.

She wrote: “Leslie Jordan put a smile on the faces of so many, especially with his pandemic videos.

“What a feat to keep us all laughing and connected in such difficult times… It feels so cruel that this could happen to such a beautiful soul.”
