Each month, we bring you a selection of the tried and tested, freshest, and buzziest beauty launches that are worth adding to your basket bella pronto.
From skin to hair, if a product finds its way into our Let’s Make-Up round-up, then you know it’s a goody.
This is April’s selection that includes a string of sumptuous new scents from cult candle company Boy Smells as well as the most decadent clay mask from Wildsmith Skin launching later this month.
Go forth and glow!
Boy Smells Italian Kush and Polyamberous candles
Cult candle brand Boy Smells (if you haven’t tried it, why not?) has launched an imitable duo of new scents to its range, Italian Kush and Polyamberous. The latter is housed in a shelfie-worthy gold vessel with notes of patchouli, cardamom and amber, while Italian Kush is fresh and zesty with hints of limoncello, pomelo, black pepper and basil. If you’re planning to resume your former status as the hostess with the mostest, then an ambient scented candle is imperative and these two are up to the job.
Space NK Beauty Heroes Volume 2 Box
For those who love their beauty but aren’t quite sure where to start with buying skincare essentials, Space NK is here to help. The British brand has just launched its second Heroes Box which is brimming with products for only £90 (they have a collective RRP value of £192). There’s a travel-sized Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream (the cream of dreams!), Laura Mercier primer and NARS mascara. Not only that but there’s also a full-sized Medik8 Vitamin C serum, Olaplex No 6 and Dr. Dennis Gross’ cult Alpha Beta Universal Peel Pads, among many others. Trust us, this is one you don’t want to miss.
Votary Tinted Lip Gloss
Now that we’re finally seeing people again, we’ll be reaching for our lippies once again. Votary’s latest launch is a vegan lip gloss brimming with squalene and a bevy of plant oils, but it isn’t just a lipgloss - it’s a pout-perfector with purpose. The brand has partnered with Eve Appeal as part of its Get Lippy campaign, which aims to raise awareness of gynecological cancers to donate 10 per cent of sales of the gloss to the charity throughout April and May. It does good, it looks good: what could be better?
Wildsmith Skin Double Clay Refining Mask
For anybody looking to purge their skin of the telltale signs of too much banana bread and sourdough, look no further than Wildsmith Skin’s new Double Clay Refining Mask, which launches later this month and is a serious skin-loving treat. Dubbed a facial in a jar, the mask contains capsicum to stimulate oxygen flow to the skin and immensely hydrating hyaluronic acid which, when paired together, work in tandem to gently clear pores without stripping the skin. As a verified clay mask lover, this has earned a top spot in my top three. It’s wonderful.
The Nue Co. Barrier Culture Moisturiser
Perhaps most well-known for its cult supplements, The Nue Co. has branched out into topical skincare and it’s some seriously miracle-working stuff. Named Barrier Culture in a nod to the fact that the products work to benefit and strengthen the skin’s topical biome, the moisturiser deserves a place in this month’s round-up because it is heaven bottled. It’s a gel-to-cream consistency that’s packed full of pre and probiotics, skin-loving ceramides, niacinamide and squalene. Used morning and night, it’s the definition of a product that does all the work for you: simply slap on, and watch as your skin glows and glows.
Huda Beauty Chocolate Brown Obsessions Palette
It’s time to ramp up the make-up, people! I’m talking full beats for our return to normality. Who better to initiate us back into the realms of make-up wearing than queen of glam, Huda Kattan? The beauty entrepreneur’s latest launch is a trio of eye-popping, glitter-packed, brown-toned palettes. There’s the dark and sultry Chocolate Brown Obsessions, the creamier Toffee Brown Obsessions and the red-toned Caramel Brown Obsessions. The only rule when applying? More is more!
La Roche Posay Anthelios Age Correct SPF50
Not all SPFs were created equal and that’s a fact, but now one of the best in the game has had a makeover that has made it even more of a standout sunscreen. Enter, La Roche Posay’s newest addition to the Anthelios family, its Age Correct SPF50 formulation. Formulated especially for sensitive skin, the sunscreen is specifically designed to target the telltale signs of ageing as well as protect against sun damage. According to the brand, it takes just four weeks of wearing the cream every day to correct the signs of ageing. So, what’re you waiting for?
Sister & Co. Clementine Refillable Bath Salts
Anybody else become addicted to bathing in the pandemic? Apparently so, according to a recent report, which found that last year alone the soap and bath category rose by a record 32 per cent. For those still looking for their perfect bathing partner, and by that I mean which products you fill your tub with, look no further than West London-based Sister & Co’s new Clementine Refillable Bath Salts. Made with pink Himalayan salt, organic almond oil and clementine, trust us when we say there’s nothing quite like it. As if they didn’t smell good enough, the salts come in a reusable glass tub with a bamboo spoon attached. Simply add 4-5 scoops into your bath and relax...
Loop Eco Face Wash
The visual lovechild of Aesop and Haeckels, Loop Eco is a new and innovative earth-first, 100 per cent plastic free beauty brand launching this month. Not only is its Vitamin C-packed face wash, which conveniently launches on Earth Day, a dream come true for brightening tired complexions, but the brand is also the first in the beauty realm to house its products in compostable boxes, which you can plant in your garden (and a literal plant will grow!) The idea is simple: the close the loop so nothing is wasted. A beauty wunderkind.
