We have a bit of a thing for beauty products over at ES Best.

Each month, an extensive offering of lotions and potions across makeup, skincare, haircare and more cross our (WFH) desks and we take it upon ourselves to review each and every one so that you don’t have to. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.

In our Let’s Make-Up round-up, we bring you a selection of the tried and tested, freshest, and buzziest beauty launches that are worth adding to your basket. If we include it below, then you know it’s a good ‘un.

For May, the weather is hotting up and our diaries are refilling once again with social arrangements so the offering of SPF from Hawaiian Tropic and a tanning serum from Scientia are a much welcomed treat. There’s also new advances in the skincare realm for sensitive skin courtesy of Tata Harper as well as Decleor with your new skin saviour mask. You’ll also find a fresh rebrand from science-backed label Zelens and the latest launch from make-up artist extraordinaire Jamie Genevieve’s brand VIEVE.

Go forth and glow!

Vita Coco Haircare

You will likely already be familiar with the brand’s coconut water but now the label has launched hair care with coconuts placed at the forefront. The highly nourishing ingredient has long be lauded as the antidote to damage both for the skin and hair so it feels like a natural path for the revolutionary coconut label who have already switched up the beverage game. For its foray into beauty, there are three ranges; Nourish, Repair and Scalp where you will find shampoo, conditioner, a mask, a serum and a scalp scrub. Not only do the products smell absolutely delicious but they make the hair feel silky smooth after use. Vita Coco has also placed huge importance on the environment with certified B Corp status and packaging made from 75 per cent post-consumer waste.

Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Bright Cream

We didn’t think we’d ever love a cream quite as much as Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum Cream but the brand’s new offering may well have turned the tables entirely. While the cult product has a summery scent that transports us instantly to tropical lands, the Bom Dia is a softer, more romantic fragrance that is lighter, more long-lasting and fresher. It is packed with the gentle exfoliant Fruit AHAs and Vitamin C to give your skin a radiance boost as well as Willow Bark Extract (a natural source of salicylic acid) to unclog pores and the label’s signature ingredient, the ultra-nourishing Cupuaçu Butter. The skincare label has also launched the Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 40 Hair and Body Mist with the delicious aromas of black amber plum, creme de cassis, vanilla woods, jasmine blooms and a hint of musk.

Scientia skincare HA & Vitamin D Aqua Tanning Serum

With the uncertain British weather and the possibility of foreign travel still up in the air, we have to look for alternative sources to get our vitamin D fix. To solve your tanning woes, Scientia has come up with this innovative formula that not only cares from your skin but gives it a radiant glow at the same time.

Combining nature with science, the serum boasts benefits from hydrating hyaluronic acid, vit D-rich Shiitake extract that also has anti-ageing properties and Prickly Pear Seed Oil - an antioxidant that also is a great source of vitamin E. You’ll also find Birch Bark Extract, Sea Algae, and Sunflower Seed Oil. To maximise the sunless tanning benefits, massage six or so drops into your skin and wait for the tan to develop, which happens in just four or so hours.

The product is cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny-certified vegan, and has a sustainable glass housing with FSC certified packaging and soy ink.
