Liverpool could prioritise bringing in a new centre-back during the summer transfer window.

The Reds, now managed by Arne Slot, have been linked with a number of new defenders as they prepare to lose Joel Matip and potentially Sepp van den Berg, who has been tipped to leave Anfield this summer. That would leave Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez as the only four recognised senior centre-backs at the club next season, with Gomez often instead used at full-back.

Transfer rumours are already starting to surface regarding Liverpool's summer plans, with Levi Colwill and Leny Yoro among the players linked with a move to the Reds. With that in mind, here is a round-up of the latest rumours...

Colwill 'seeking assurances' over Chelsea place

Levi Colwill is seeking assurances from new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca over his role in the team amid links to Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, according to 90min.com.

Colwill impressed at the start of the season after returning to the Blues following a season on loan at Brighton but struggled with injuries and fitness concerns near the back end of the campaign. And he is set to ask for guarantees over his place in the squad after the appointment of Maresca on Monday.

Liverpool have been long linked with a move to Colwill ever since his impressive breakthrough Premier League campaign at Chelsea. The Reds could sign a new centre-back this summer after the departure of Joel Matip, and Colwill might be someone they look at bringing in.

Yoro and Pacho listed as centre-back targets

Leny Yoro and Willian Pacho have been named as two potential targets for Liverpool over the summer transfer window as the club eye a new centre-back, as per Fabrizio Romano.

18-year-old Yoro has impressed for Lille in Ligue 1 this season, making 32 appearances. Meanwhile, the slightly more experienced Pacho has also caught the eye in his first season with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Real Madrid and PSG are also tracking the progress of Yoro. Pacho, meanwhile, moved to Frankfurt from Royal Antwerp last summer and played 42 matches in all competitions last term.
