Levi Davis: 'Disturbing' issues with missing rugby player case, say Spanish police
Police searching for missing rugby player Levi Davis - last seen in Barcelona four months ago - have said they are running an "open investigation" to see if a crime has been committed.
Mr Davis was last seen at a pub in the city on 29 October.
Spanish officers said the case had "disturbing" issues with "no logical explanation" and a specialist unit is handling the case, the BBC reported.
The 24-year former Bath player appeared on Celebrity X Factor in 2019 with fellow rugby stars Thom Evans and Ben Foden.
He was also on E4's Celebs Go Dating.
A few weeks before going missing, Mr Davis had gone to Ibiza to stay with a friend and work on some songs as he had signed a record deal.
That friend, Richard Squire, said he last saw him on 28 October when he dropped him off in Ibiza Town.
He travelled to Barcelona by boat and CCTV showed him leaving the city's Old Irish Pub the next day.
Mr Davis was wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans and white trainers and carrying a small black backpack. He has not been seen since.
His passport was found by Spanish police a few weeks later.
However, in a WhatsApp voice note to a friend - said to be from just after midnight on 30 October and shared with the BBC - Mr Davis says Barcelona is "absolutely beautiful" and he's "getting all my inspo".
Mr Davis's family previously said he was in a "sad place" before he went missing and friends said he struggled with his mental health.
A private investigator has been helping the family and his friends are running a social media campaign to try to find him.
A £10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his discovery.
