Lewis Capaldi laughs off feud with ‘lovely’ Noel Gallagher as he reveals they've met face-to-face

Lewis Capaldi has revealed he's met Noel Gallagher face-to-face, and that the exchange went surprisingly well considering that the Oasis star has done nothing but badmouth him over the last few weeks.

The Someone You Loved chart-topper got the chance to chat with the Wonderwall hitmaker during Mad Cool festival in Madrid, Spain last week.

"He was lovely, I gave him a big hug," the 22-year-old musician told the Daily Star.

"And I whispered in his ear: 'It's going to be OK' and he was wriggling, he was wriggling, I pinned him down and I said: 'Noel, come here, it's going to be fine'."

Capaldi seems to have made a habit out of laughing off Gallagher's attitude towards him. Just days after they met, Gallagher sat down for a lengthy interview with Variety, where he compared the Scotsman to "f***ing Chewbacca" and urged him to "enjoy his 15 minutes."

In response, Capaldi changed his name on Twitter to 'Chewis Capaldi' and uploaded a new profile picture of his face merged with that of the hairy Star Wars character.

A few days later, he appeared on stage at TRNSMT music festival in Glasgow wearing a Chewbacca mask.

"It's all a good laugh," he explained. "It's very funny, you can't take it seriously, he doesn't care and I'm not bothered, say what you want."

"The music industry changed very quickly. It's very fickle; a bunch of fickle b*****ds. I might not be doing this in two years, you're only as good as your next tune. So I want to be able to look back in two years' time and say: 'See that portion of my life I had as much fun as possible'."
