Leyton shooting: Murder charge after man gunned down outside east London snooker club

A man has been charged with murdering a 27-year-old who was shot dead after visiting a snooker club in east London.

Liridon Saliuka, 29, of no fixed address, was charged on Tuesday with the murder of Grineo Daka, possession of a firearm and GBH with intent.

Mr Daka, from Stratford, east London, was gunned down outside the Phoenix snooker club in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, in the early hours of July 7.

Armed officers attended the scene and found him suffering a gunshot wound. Paramedics battled to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saliuka will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. An investigation by homicide detectives is ongoing.
