Could Oasis finally be set for a reunion? OK, so it seems those rumours surface every five minutes, but Liam Gallagher's latest tweet has got fans excited.

The iconic '90s frontman has tweeted to brother Noel Gallagher that he "forgives" him, despite their longstanding feud, and suggested that they get the old band back together.

"Earth to noel listen up rkid I hear your doing gigs where people can't drink alcohol now that's the BeZarist thing you've done yet," he wrote. "I forgive you now let's get the BIG O back together and stop f**king about the drinks are on me LG x."

However, he later admitted it wasn't the biggest priority, adding: "I'm not desperate just think it'd be a nice thing to do."

While we'd take this with a pinch of salt – the brothers still have a very fraught relationship, after all – it would be nice to see the band back together.

It seemed that the brothers had made up at Christmas, and around the same time, Noel said of his brother: "Well, Liam's been benefiting from my genius for a long time. He's going to have to do with that again this year."

However, he was positive about the chances of the band getting back together, especially if they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"I'd do it," he said on The One Show. "I guess you'd have to [reunite], to accept it. That's if you accept it."
