Liam Neeson talks possible Star Wars return as Qui-Gon
Before the days of hunting down, finding and killing baddies who have taken his daughter, Liam Neeson was hunting down, finding and killing baddies on the dark side of the Force.
His appearance in the Star Wars universe as Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn was all-too-short after dying at the end of The Phantom Menace, though we may not have seen the last of him after all.
The news that an Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off movie may be in the works has heightened speculation that his old master could come back in some form.
Now Neeson himself has weighed in on the idea... and he doesn't seem too put off by it at all.
"This is the first time I'm hearing of this," the Irish actor admitted to Yahoo! Movies when posed the question of possibly coming back. "No-one's been in touch with me. I know in the Star Wars world anything is possible.
"In the first one, The Phantom Menace, I died but we know, you know, Jedis come back and stuff but no-one's been in touch. We'll see."
We'll take that as a very strong maybe.
The Obi-Wan movie has not been officially confirmed, despite heavy rumours that it will start shooting in January 2019.
However, Ewan McGregor is keen to reprise his role from the prequels, saying: "There's no official offer, and I haven't met them about it or anything. But I've always said that I'd be happy to do it if they wanted to do it.
"It would be a good segue between the last Episode of the prequels and the new Episodes."
If the movie does take place then, we imagine that Qui-Gon could come back as a Force ghost. After all, there probably wasn't a whole lot else for Obi-Wan to do on Tatooine in all that time.
