Liam Payne admits he 'misses' his son as Cheryl prepares for red carpet debut

Liam Payne and Cheryl welcomed their newborn baby into the world last month and fans have waited eagerly to hear the name they’ve chosen for their little boy.

Though the couple have revealed few details about their new journey into parenthood, Liam has teased us with a flood of selfie pictures on Instagram ever since the birth.

So when the 23-year-old singer captioned the below snap with the words ‘the waiting game…’ Directioners screamed in unison “we know!!!!”.

Does this mean his solo material is on the way soon or will we get more details about the baby?

His latest Insta snap has fans convinced that a big announcement is soon to come. Liam is sat on a bench on the phone and the ‘OMG’ sign in the background indicating a big reveal is on the horizon.

What’s more, the timing is perfect. Rumour has it Cheryl will make a glamourous return to the red carpet at the glamorous Cannes Film Festival next month.

The star, 33, is set to make her first public appearance as part of her deal with French beauty giant L’Oreal and fans will be looking forward to seeing her post-baby figure.

A source told The Sun Online: “As a brand ambassador for L’Oreal, it is believed Cheryl is contractually obliged to make an appearance at Cannes Film Festival. Cannes is the most glamorous showbiz event in the world and Cheryl is always incredibly proud to be invited and represent the brand.”

However, Chez’s rep told the publication: “We don’t reveal diary details.”

Liam has also been busy working on his new material in Los Angeles and last night, he told one fan he “misses” his little boy.

Directioner Pedro hung out with his idol in California and asked him how the little one is doing. Liam replied: “He’s great, he’s good. I love him and I miss him a lot,” he claimed on Twitter.
