Liam Payne has hinted that discussions about a One Direction reunion could be well underway.

The former boy and star admitted that he and band mates Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles have formed their own “group chat” leaving fans hopeful that it could mean they are finally planning to reunite.

Payne was in attendance at the KSI vs Joe Fournier fight when he was approached at the ringside and quizzed on the possibility of a One Direction get together in the near future.

Excited former boxer and interviewer Derek Chisora then told his Delicious TV camera: “1D is back soon!”

The key point for One Direction fans was that Payne didn’t deny the claim and simply shrugged his shoulders, meaning the statement could very well be true very soon.

Styles also recently hinted that there was a possibility of reuniting with his former bandmates when he appeared on the final episode of The Late Late Show.

He said: "I think I would never say never to that. If there was a time when we wanted to do it, I don’t see why we wouldn’t.”

Show host James Corden then declared: "I'm taking that as a yes!"

Whether or not original 1D member Zayn Malik would be included in the line-up remains to be seen, as he quit the band two years prior to them going on hiatus in 2015.
