Liam Payne's ex Maya Henry has broken her silence on rumours surrounding his death. Maya, who filed a cease and desist letter in the run-up to the 31-year-old ITV The X Factor star dying in Buenos Aires in Argentina, has flatly denied rumours she was staying at the South American hotel.

Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: "Maya Henry has never been to Argentina, and she was not back with Liam Payne." It comes after a hotel worker spoken to Argentine TV, revealing an "ex" of Liam's was "around" and staying on the floor above the One Direction star.

A source close to Liam's ex Maya - who had made a series of bombshell claims about him - has told Mail Online : "Right now she is obviously in shock." Reports suggested that Maya only learned of Liam's death when a reporter contacted a member of her team.

Just days ago the Texan model, 23, instructed lawyers to issue a cease and desist letter to the pop star after accusing him of repeatedly contacting her. She has also accused the Payne of contacting her friends and playing on the loyalty of die-hard One Direction fans across social media.

Lawyers for the star told MailOnline: "Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information. She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this time, that is her only comment on the matter."

Sharing a brutal assessment of Payne with TikTok followers last week, Henry - the daughter of multi-millionaire personal-injury lawyer Thomas J. Henry - claimed he has gone to extraordinary lengths in an attempt to contact her.

"Ever since we broke up he messages me, will blow up my phone, not only from his phone, it's always from different phone numbers too, so I never know where it's gonna come from," she said.
