Lichfield police statement issued over huge waste pile as new images show scale of rubbish mountain
Police have sealed off a rural road after a huge mountain of rubbish was dumped in the area overnight. Brazen fly-tippers dumped the industrial waste on Watery Lane in Lichfield.
Locals first noticed the massive pile of rubbish in the early hours of Sunday, January 20. A housing developer said residents and businesses have been "left isolated".
Police have closed Watery Lane, and access through Eastern Avenue and Wood End Lane, following the shock dumping. Lichfield District Council has launched an investigation into the incident.
