Lidl announces it'll shut 'vast majority' of supermarkets for three days
Lidl is set to shut the vast majority of its stores for three days over the festive period. Lidl - which is rivalled by the likes of Aldi, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco - has revealed its Christmas opening hours and will close all branches on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Most of its stores will be closed on Boxing Day too. Lidl said most stores outside the M25 and Wales will be closed on December 26. Christmas has become renowned for being one of the year's biggest shopping days - but some businesses have confirmed they'll remain shut on both December 25 and 26, so staff can enjoy a well-earned rest with their families.
In previous years, this has been received from customers and more retailers and supermarkets are deciding to follow. All Aldi stores will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, reopening on Friday, December 27. This closure is to thank their colleagues for their hard work during the year.
