Lidl launches new range with item that's the 'best one around'

Plant-based diets have soared in popularity in recent years with many people trying out the Veganuary trend this month. Many of the UK's major supermarkets are selling a new range of vegan and vegetarian foods for people to try this January.

This includes Lidl, who has launched a new range of tasty treats for those looking to give up meat this month. The discount retailer shared its new plant based range on Instagram.

Announcing its range, Vemondo, Lidl said: "Plant-based meals for every craving! Get our Vemondo range now - your taste buds will thank you."

The retailer shared a video of some of its top picks from the range, including its PLANT! plain soya pot, mature cheddar, meat free mince, two beetroot burgers, grated mature cheddar, 10 meat free bacon rashers and peri peri no chicken pieces. The retailer also shared some perfect recipe ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner, using its meat-free products.

Retailer, Aldi also released its new range of tasty meat-free treats, earlier this month. It said: "These new plant-based delights are going straight in our baskets. Head in store now to grab the full vegan range." Aldi's range includes Indian inspired vegetable nests (£1.99), baking bert (£1.99), no chicken slices (£1.49), no salmon slices (£2.99), plan menu meal kits including keema, no beef and more (£2.99).

Shoppers have already been loving the new plant based ranges in stores with some saying it's the "best" compared to other supermarket retailers. Liandrathercrazycatlady said: "Loving this. For me, Aldi vegan cheese is the best one around. Looking forward to trying the camembert."
