Lidl shoppers who spend £12 in store having energy bills reduced to £167
Lidl shoppers who spend £12 can get £167 energy bills in a major Cost of Living boost. Lidl shopper Ben John, 38, has shared a £12 middle-aisle item at the supermarket that cuts his heating bill to £167 a year without breaking the bank.
John's winter electric bills are just £100 and diesel costs a mere £67, thanks to a off-brand Oodie for only £12. He explained: "The diesel heater stays on constantly and its cheaper than electric - if I had electric on it would cost a fortune! ""I always keep it on the lowest setting though, to save money - and layer up. Slipper socks are great because they're nice and warm, and I have lots of fleecy dressing gowns."
"And then my 'Oodie' is like a big duvet - me the dog and the cat get all snuggled up on together in winter. And the electric blanket costs pence to run. If I keep the door shut, it can get quite toasty!" he added. Lidl’s Oversized Fleece Hoodie arrived in store on Sunday 17 November, in sizes ranging from small to large.

The loungewear is made from “warm, fluffy” material and has a fleeced lining for a cosy feel. Ribbed cuffs help to prevent cold chills, while a pouch pocket is ideal for everything from phones to a TV remote while relaxing at home.
Colour options include tie-dye blue, pink, and black for £9.99 each. The fleeced hoodies are sure to delight bargain hunters as the original Oodie costs £65 when it’s not on sale. Oodies are described as a “jumper crossed with a blanket”.
This week, John went on and added: "It's generally quite festive on site - people all get their lights up. I have them up outside, it's a nice vibe and a community feel."
