Lidl store closed by emergency services after firework incident
Emergency services were called to a local Lidl store on Bonfire Night (November 5) after a group of individuals set off what is described as a "large firework" in the entrance of the shop. The Lidl store in Kingswood, which is located on Halls Road, had to close for the rest of the evening due to the smoke caused by the firework.
Police were alerted to the incident at around 6.45pm, with the fire brigade also attending the scene. The store has since confirmed that it is now operating as normal and the firework was not purchased from Lidl.
A statement from Lidl on Wednesday, November 6, said: "Our teams work exceptionally hard to maintain a safe store environment for our customers and under no circumstances do we tolerate behaviour of this nature. Police were immediately alerted, and we are supporting them with their ongoing investigation."
