Lidl's new 'gorgeous' £1.99 shower gels smell 'just like £23 ones at Lush'
Lidl has recently launched a new range of £1.99 shower gels that are proving popular with customers, with many claiming they're 'just as good' as a major high street name. Social media is already abuzz with excited shoppers planning a trip to the budget supermarket.
A photo shared on the popular Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, by a member named Laura, showcased the new shower gels discovered during her weekly shop. She posted: "My partner found what clearly look like Lush [alternatives] in Lidl today."
She further noted that the 500ml bottles from Lidl's 'By Deluxe' range were each priced at a bargain £1.99. The products featured in the post were 'Dizzy Rose' and 'Mintilicious Tingle'.

Some customers suggested these seem to be inspired by some of the pricier versions sold by beauty retailer Lush. Lots compared 'Dizzy Rose' to Lush's extremely popular 'Rose Jam' product.
The 'Dizzy Rose' bottle is described as offering "groovy vibes" with "a fragrant blend of Turkish rose, floral bouquet and goji berry". Meanwhile, the 'Mintilicious' variant contains "menthol crystals and spearmint", reports the Mirror.
More bottles were spotted on store shelves by TikToker @ByLatticia. She picked up 'Honey I'm Home', which boasts "an aroma blend of honey, peach and orange oil".
She also highlighted Lidl's 'Relax' bottle, which promises "chill vibes with a blend of aromatic lavender, sweet tonka and ylang ylang". In her review, Latticia pointed out that a similar sized bottle sold by Lush (500ml) retails for £23 meaning Lidl shoppers could save just over £20 if they opt for this alternative.
In the Facebook group, shoppers were equally as excited - with some planning a trip to Lidl just to look for these products. The post was met with dozens of comments, filled with friends tagging one another as well as people who had already been successful in finding the shower gels.
One person said: "We will need to look out for these!" Another claimed: "I had a sniff in the shops before and the rose one is gorgeous, smells just like the real thing!" A third shopper exclaimed: "Oh my god! Running to Lidl and praying mine have some of these in stock!"
A curious shopper wondered if these items were limited time only deals, expecting them to be in the infamous middle aisle that's constantly rotating its stock. The original poster clarified that they were found amongst the "regular toiletries".
The "Middle of Lidl aisle" works similarly to budget supermarket Aldi in that it can hold dozens of different items from one week to the next from a massive range of categories - from clothing to food to camping equipment. At Lidl, shoppers know to expect changes weekly - and can keep up to date on what's expected to land in stores by looking online.
