Lidl's new Halloween range has shoppers joking it looks 'burned'
Lidl's latest Halloween selection has been causing a stir, especially with one particular product which has caught shoppers' attention.
As the darker nights and autumn weather rolls in, shops are packed with seasonal favourites from harvest treats and snacks to eerie décor. Lidl is no stranger to the trend, offering budget-friendly deals that have caught the eye of many - including popular social media account, New Foods UK.
With its massive 360K followers on Instagram, New Foods UK is the go-to for updates on the freshest finds in supermarkets and high-street favourites, recently posting a reel flaunting Lidl's Halloween haul.
The clip gives shoppers a glimpse of the spooky spread on offer on Lidl's shelves, showcasing an assortment of goodies from mini ghostly pizzas and build-your-own macaron kits, to marshmallow treats, pumpkin spice squares cereal, and much more to get people geared up for the annual spooky season.
While many Lidl shoppers are buzzing over the festive fare, there's been a particularly strong reaction to one item. Amid various ghoulish sweets, cereals with a creepy twist, mini doughnuts, and bubblegum-flavoured cupcakes, it was the launch of Lidl's peculiar black chicken nuggets, accompanied by sweet and sour sauce, that really got people talking.

In a humorous touch, one customer quipped to their friend: "black chicken nuggets for the party? ", punctuated with a crying laughing emoji.
Another was dubious about the hue of the items: "Ok Halloween is like my favourite season but black coloured food items that aren't normally black just don't sit well with me".
One shopper joked: "The nuggets I wouldn't know when [they're] good or burnt", while another said: "I can't say I'm sure about those black nuggets..."
And another penned: "Okay, it all looks amazing BUT those black nuggets fully look burned! I can't be the only one thinking it? If I was given those at a Halloween party, I'd think it was a trick not a treat [crying laughing emoji]".
Dozens of social media users took to tagging their friends after spotting the post, with many showing eagerness to visit their local shop to try out the latest offerings. One keen customer hinted to a buddy: "might have to pop in here", while another suggested to a friend: "lil shopping trip for us".
One worried shopper voiced concern about missing the goodies: "I always see these videos then go and never find this food ha", but a truly excited gastronome joyfully remarked: "The best time of year."
