Liege in Belgium was drowning in muddy water on Thursday 15 July, as floods inundated parts of north-western Europe. Days of heavy rain caused floods that have left hundreds missing and at least 160 people dead in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. The mayor of Liege urged citizens to evacuate.
