'Life-changing' massive houseboat on sale for £1.5m that's bigger than most London flats
A stunning 25-metre houseboat described as an 'architectural masterpiece' is on sale in London - and it's bigger than most London flats. The Dutch barge Wanderland, designed by artist Cyril de Commargue, the two-bedroom houseboat boasts stunning spacious interiors cleverly designed to catch light reflecting from the River Thames.
The Wanderland boasts more than 150 square metres of space inside the two-floor boat. Most of the central space is made up of a gorgeous living area filled with light from windows lining both the walls and the roof of the boat.
But probably the most intriguing aspect to the 25-metre boat is the unusual design of the exterior. It has a striking polyhedron mirrored exterior, the brochure says, which creates a unique appearance among the other houseboats on the Thames.

A large bedroom and ensuite bathroom sit on the lower mezzanine, while leading up and out of the back of the boat from the living area reveals a beautiful look-out spot, perfect for gazing out over the city of London.
The boat itself has historical roots, and was reimagined from a 1950s Dutch grain barge. The boat is currently based in Imperial Wharf.
The previous owner of the Wanderland, who has lived in the houseboat for seven years, describes his experience living on the river as "life-changing". He says: "My seven years on board Wanderland have been utterly life-changing in ways I never ever expected."
The owner adds: "Wanderland is no ordinary boat. It’s an architectural sculpture on the water. It was lovingly created to form a connection to the natural world and being on board, you feel like you are part of the rhythm and dance of the river as it changes and flows with the tides."
However, this stunning boat does come at a steep price. The luxury barge is on sale for £1.5 million, and enquiries can be made here.
