Lightning Forks Across Honolulu Sky During Late-Night Storm

A storm moving through Hawaii late on Monday, November 18, and early on Tuesday, November 19, brought heavy rain to the islands and sparked flood warnings, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

The NWS initially issued a Flash Flood Warning for Oahu on Tuesday and then extended the advisory to a Flash Flood Watch for all of the Hawaiian islands until Tuesday afternoon.

Local media said the “powerful” storm downed trees across Oahu. A fallen electrical pole cut power to about 670 customers near the town of Makaha, power company Hawaiian Electric reported.
