Lightning 'Likely' Cause as Fire Engulfs Family Home in Maryland
A family was displaced from their home by a damaging fire in Damascus, Maryland, on June 14, with a fire service spokesman saying lightning was the likely cause.
This clip, posted by Jessica Taylor on Twitter, shows the house on Sweet Cherry Lane engulfed in flames.
Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service, said a lightning strike was the likely cause, and that the house was “fully engulfed” when crews arrived.
