Lili Reinhart has revealed that she is bisexual following her rumoured split from long-term boyfriend Cole Sprouse.

On Wednesday, the Riverdale actress shared news of her sexual preferences on Instagram Stories along with details about the LGTBQ+ for #BlackLivesMatter protest in West Hollywood, California.

‘Although I've never announced it before, I am a proud bisexual woman,’ the 23-year-old wrote in a post. ‘And I will be joining this protest today. Come join.’

Reinhart has been in a relationship with her Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse but rumours that they might have split came to light last month when fans learned that they were quarantining separately during the coronavirus pandemic. The pair are yet to confirm reports of their break-up.

June marks the start of LGBTQ+ Pride Month, with countries across the world celebrating LGBTQ+ identity and raising awareness of the inequalities surrounding sexuality.

Across the world, anti-racists are taking part in protests against police brutality, systematic racism and racial inequality following the death of George Floyd.

Floyd, an unarmed 46-year-old man from Minnesota, died last week after a white police officer knelt on his neck to pin him to the ground despite Floyd repeatedly staying that he was unable to breathe.

The police officer, Derek Chauvin, was later charged with third-degree murder and third-degree manslaughter. His third-degree murder charge was changed to second-degree murder on Wednesday.

Criminal charges have also been filed against three other policemen – Thomas Lane, Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng – who were present at the time of Floyd’s death.

Reinhart joins countless celebrities who are speaking out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and taking to the streets to participate in protests.

‘I don't have all the right words, but I stand by you. #BlackLivesMatter,’ the actress tweeted on Monday.

‘I can't begin to imagine the horror of worrying that you won't be protected by your 'leaders' because of the color of your skin," she said. 'I know that white privilege exists and I cpuld [sic] never fully understand what it’s like to be oppressed because of my race.’

‘I want to say that I am ashamed of the racism that exists in this country,' she added. ‘We are taught to look at our police officers as helpful and friendly when we learn about "leader" in elementary school. Our “leaders” have failed us today.’
