Lilia Valutyte: CCTV footage shows nine-year-old playing in the street minutes before being stabbed

CCTV footage has shown nine-year-old Lilia Valutyte playing in the street just minutes before she was tragically killed.

Lilia died after being stabbed in the neck at approximately 6.15pm on July 28.

In the footage, Lilia is seen playing on the street with her sister. Just 10 minutes later she was attacked and later died at the scene on Fountain Lane, Boston.

Deividas Skebas, 22, was arrested and charged with her murder on Sunday.

He remains in custody and will appear in court on September 19.

In a statement confirming that Skebas had been charged, Lincolnshire Police asked that the privacy of child’s family be respected.

A statement read: “Lilia’s parents are being supported by specially trained officers, and we would urge for their privacy to be respected at this particularly difficult time.

“Their welfare continues to be a priority for us.”

A tribute has been established on Fountain Lane where cards, flowers and gifts can be left for the nine-year-old.

Previously, chief superintendent Martyn Parker said: “This is a heartbreaking case that has affected many people in Boston, and further afield.

“Our thoughts continue to be with Lilia’s family at this exceptionally difficult time.

“The response to such a devastating incident has involved committing significant resources to the investigation, and engaging with people in Boston who are understandably shocked by Lilia’s death.”
