Lily Allen Reveals That She Narrowly Avoided Tragic Italian Earthquake

Lily Allen has taken to social media to reveal that she is feeling “blessed” after her family narrowly avoided being caught in the tragic Italian earthquake yesterday.

The star was on holiday in Umbria, Italy with her husband Sam Cooper and their two daughters - four-year-old Ethel and three-year-old Marnie - when she was forced to pack up early due to tragic circumstances.

Lily left Italy ahead of schedule in order to attend a funeral back in the UK, with the 6.2 magnitude earthquake striking Umbria and killing at least 247 people after she had flown home.

Responding to concerned fans who knew that she had been in the area, Lily tweeted: “Yes, my family are all in Umbria, but they are fine. Thank you for your concern.

"Had to leave my family holiday in Umbria early to come home for a funeral. Such sad scenes but feeling blessed that my lot are all ok x”.

The towns of Amatrice and Accumoli were the worst affected by the earthquake and it is thought that around 150 people are still trapped underneath the rubble.

Lily had been keeping her followers up to date with her holiday whilst away, revealing that the clan had been joined in Italy by her grandmother as well as her cousins.
