It's been hard to go near the internet this week without reading about Emily In Paris, Netflix's latest show. From the creators of Sex And The City, the show follows an American who moves to Paris for her dream job, and the drama that ensues.

While the outfits are quite something, the reaction to the show has been mixed - while some people have said it's the escapism we need right now, others have criticised the show's lack of authenticity.

But what does Lily Collins, who played Emily, think of all of the strong opinions? Speaking to British Vogue, who called the reaction "crazy", Lily explained: "You know, it’s such a weird feeling to be going through this sort of release right now.

"We’re so lucky to have Netflix because it’s being rolled out all over the world – but having that take place while you’re at home is surreal, to say the least.

"There’s just been so much darkness for everyone in 2020 – it’s great to make people laugh and help them escape a little bit. It feels as though viewers are really losing themselves in Emily in Paris and just having a good time, so it’s come at the perfect moment, in a lot of ways."

Lily added, "An American in Paris is by no means a revolutionary plot line – but right now it’s a foreign one that’s just not possible in real life."

She's got a point - even if you weren't a fan of Emily In Paris at first, you've got to admit the escapism is second to none.
