Lincolnshire's Indian restaurant hoping to put its village on the map after being named the county's 'best'
Lincolnshire's best Indian restaurant has been crowned by our readers after it came out on top in the shortlist poll. Abdal's Kitchen in Ulceby earned the majority of the votes, with Lincoln's Castle View in close second and the city's MaCh in third.
The owner of the North Lincolnshire family restaurant which opened in March 2022, Abdal Miah, hopes to put his small village on the map. His brother Anhar, who helps to run the business, said: "We get customers from all over like the other side of Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Louth, Market Rasen and Caistor.
"We're attracting people from 25 to 30 miles away which is really good. It's not cheap to eat out these days. Ultimately, when they come here, they enjoy good value for money and also the tangible benefits too.

"The restaurant is decked out really nice. Everything is fresh and clean whereas some of our competitors are very dated."
Speaking about winning the poll, he added: "I didn't think we would win it, I thought we might come a strong second or third. It was a pleasant surprise. It's about people getting to know us. Even if a small number of people think 'what is this Ulceby thing all about?' it creates that brand awareness and intrigue."
Abdal's Kitchen is open every day, except Tuesdays, from 5pm to 10pm. As well as dine-in, they offer an extensive takeaway menu full of their Indian and Bangladeshi dishes.
