Linda Evangelista on the New Class of Supermodels: ‘They Can Give Me Advice!’

Models of the moment Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid are each reaching new career heights with every new day. Jenner covered five Vogue September issues globally this year, Gigi recently created her own line with Tommy Hilfiger, and all three models will be walking in the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. But before their rise was a still-reigning class of supermodels — Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and more — all who have provided endless inspiration for today’s muses.

And while some models have dismissed the success of this new class, according to Evangelista, the girls gracing today’s runways are doing quite all right. We asked the 51-year-old model what advice she’d give today’s class of supers, and her answer is simple: she wouldn’t give them any advice at at all.

“They can give me advice,” Evangelista tells PeopleStyle at a launch event for skincare brand Erasa XEP-30, of which she’s the vice president and creative director. “They’re so fabulous, they’ve got the world in their hands. They’re so aware and so in control — they’re just so fabulous.”

A few months back, the modeling industry was amidst an uproar when original super Stephanie Seymour referred to the new class as “bitches of the moment” — a phrase she later apologized for.

But judging by Evangelista’s praise, Kendall, Gigi and Bella have a whole lot to be proud of.
