The family of Linda Nolan have announced that "everyone is welcome" to attend her funeral. A memorial for the singer will take place in Blackpool tomorrow, Saturday February 1.

The service will take place at St Paul’s Church in Blackpool at 10.30am. St Paul’s is the same church where Linda married her husband Brian Hudson in 1981 and where he was laid to rest after he died in 2007, according to the family.

On Thursday, her sister Anne Nolan posted on Instagram saying: "The Nolan family invites everyone to join them in celebrating the extraordinary life of Linda Nolan, who passed away peacefully on 15th January 2025."

She added: "Linda was a beacon of light, strength and unwavering love who inspired everyone she met, in addition to millions around the world. Her absence leaves an ache in our hearts, but her legacy will live on through the joy, hope and kindness she shared so freely.

"Everyone who knew Linda, or whose lives she touched, are welcome to come and pay their respects as we remember her remarkable life. Fans and public are welcome to gather outside the church for the funeral - and in true Linda spirit, the more the merrier!"

Linda died aged 65 after a battle with secondary breast cancer on January 15. The star's agent confirmed the news, saying she died with her famous sisters by her side. The statement read: "She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda's legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment."

She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, given the all-clear in 2011, but in 2017 was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. In 2020 doctors told her the disease had spread, and by 2023 it was in her brain. Anne continued in her post: “There’s been a bit of confusion regarding the church service and the crematorium. Just to clarify everyone is welcome to both services

“There may not be seating available as both places are small and obviously we are a big family so most of the seating will be taken by us but if you don’t mind standing we would love you to be there and we know Linda would be thrilled.”

The family are also raising money for Trinity Hospice, which Linda supported, and have asked that donations and messages of condolences should be sent to a memorial page in her memory. More than £2,450 has been raised on the Much Loved site so far for the hospice.

Linda was known for other things outside of her singing career. She had appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, was a columnist for The Mirror, and made appearances in stage musicals such as Blood Brothers, Pump Boys And Dinettes and Prisoner Cell Block H. Outside her TV and musical career, she helped to raise more than £20 million for numerous charities, including Breast Cancer Now, Irish Cancer Society, Samaritans and many others.
