Lindsay Hubbard Isn't Worried What Carl Radke Thinks About Her Pregnancy: 'I Can't Focus on My Past' (Exclusive)
"His emotions are no longer my responsibility," the 'Summer House' star tells PEOPLE
Lindsay Hubbard's eyes are set fully forward.
Less than a year after her ex-fiancé Carl Radke called off their wedding, the Summer House star has found happiness, falling in love with a new man and revealing on the Fourth of July that she's pregnant with her first baby, due this holiday season.
"It's just so clear to me that the universe had a plan," Hubbard, 37, tells PEOPLE, in an exclusive interview about her happy news. "I feel like my prayers were answered."
Viewers will be able to see Hubbard's pregnancy journey play out on the Bravo reality show, with production of season 9 currently underway. And while her boyfriend likely won't appear (a doctor who works in biotech investing, he's asked to remain out of the public eye), Hubbard will be filming again with Radke.
This, of course, begs the question: how is Radke going to react to Hubbard's big news?
While Summer House fans might be interested in knowing, Hubbard doesn't care. "I'm sure he'll find out when the rest of the world finds out, but I'm not calling him up and having a conversation with him," she says.
"That relationship is in my past, and I can't really focus on my past anymore because I'm so focused on my present and my future," she adds. "And to be honest, his emotions are no longer my responsibility. It's just not my problem anymore."
Hubbard had a similar attitude on display at the Summer House season 8 reunion in June, too. Though it was the first time she and Radke, 39, had come face-to-face since their headline-making breakup played out on TV, she already knew she was pregnant and the excitement of her next chapter left her disinterested in digging into former drama.
"That's what allowed me that quiet, calm strength that I had at the reunion," Hubbard recalls. "In the back of my mind, the whole time I was thinking, 'Let me just get through this, and then I can focus on the important things that matter to me right now' — which certainly wasn't all that."

The next few months are going to be an exciting time for Hubbard leading up to baby. There's showers to plan, a nursery to decorate, and of course, a baby name to pick out.
"We're not telling anyone what we're having yet, but the second we found out we were like, 'Okay, let's talk about names,' " Hubbard tells PEOPLE. "We already have one in mind, but we'll see if it sticks as the months go on."

And until then, she's just soaking up this time on her road to motherhood.
"I've been very lucky and blessed that the pregnancy has been fairly easy," she says. "I've had no morning sickness, no nausea — if anything, it's been the opposite because my pregnancy hunger is insatiable. But it's been a really, really easy."
"I'm just excited to actually be able to talk about it publicly now and share in the celebration with our friends," she says. "I'm a very 'scream from the rooftops' kind of girl. I'm just ready to let it all out now."
