WATCH: Lindsay Lohan admits she's 'considering' converting to Islam as she defends Donald Trump

It’s safe to say that Lindsay Lohan has become somewhat of an enigma after ditching her wild child ways in favour of spirituality and religion.

The star previously sparked speculation that she is converting to Islam after removing all of her social media posts and writing “Alaikum salam” (peace be upon you) in her bio.

Lindsay appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier today.

She has also been spotted studying the Qu’ran on multiple occasions and has spoken warmly about Islamic beliefs in the past.

Now Lindsay has opened up about her religion, partying past, and Donald Trump in a telling interview on Good Morning Britain, admitting that she is considering converting to Islam as she, rather controversially, appeared to defend President Donald Trump.

Speaking about her religious beliefs, Lindsay explained: “I think that me studying the Quran is something that I found a solace in. It was a religion where I found a lot of peace.

“You can’t just convert to a religion overnight, it’s a culture and a practice. I do study it, nothing is confirmed yet. Any religion anyone chooses is a personal belief, my sister’s Buddhist. It [converting to Islam] is a consideration I have.”

The actress went on to admit that she enjoys studying different cultures and she hopes to eventually learn Arabic so that she can communicate with the disadvantaged children that she works with in Syria, explaining: “A lot of my friends that are Arab and they’ve been really good people to me.

“Also working with kids in Syria, I want to learn the language so I can discuss situations with them. I want to be on the same page as them.”

However, embracing the Islamic culture has also opened Lindsay’s eyes to the dark world of racial profiling, revealing that she was stopped by security in an airport when she was wearing a headscarf.

Admitting that the altercation made her feel uncomfortable, Lindsay shared: “I was [wearing a headscarf] because I was leaving Turkey and out of respect for certain countries that I go to when I see certain people I think I feel more comfortable acting the same as other women, that’s just a personal respect issue that I have so I had it on, I felt more comfortable that way.

“I was flying to New York, I was wearing a headscarf and I got stopped and racially profiled for the first time in my life. She opened my passport and saw Lindsay Lohan and started immediately apologising but then said please take off your headscarf.

“I did, I mean it’s OK. But what scared me was that moment, how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel? That was really interesting to me. I was kind of in shock.

“I can’t speak for what the purpose of it was. But it was jarring. I got double checked until she realised. It was strange. It did [freak me out]. I’m from New York, born and raised. I was a little intimidated.”

Despite her discomfort at being racially profiled, Lindsay surprised viewers when she went on to defend controversial President Donald Trump, who sparked outrage earlier this year when he launched a ‘Muslim Ban’ in America – preventing immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the US – even if they already hold a green card.

Expressing sympathy for the businessman-turned-President, Lindsay shared: “It’s such a double edged sword because I don’t agree with his policies and the things that he’s doing, but at the end of the day he is the President right now, so what’s the point in picking on someone instead of just seeing what they’re capable of or not capable of?

“I don’t know what goes on, I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the Oval Office these days.”

When asked if the anti-Trump hysteria was being overplayed, Lindsay continued: “I think so. I think it’s just, people are making it overly dramatic. I do think his Twitter needs to be taken away or deleted.

Lindsay has come a long way from her party lifestyle.

“I just think, you know, don’t kick someone when they’re down.”

Hmm, we’re sure that many of Lindsay’s fans will have something to say about that, but you have to admit, Lindsay has definitely changed a lot over the past 10 years and the way American politics are going, we wouldn’t be surprised if Lindsay ended up being the next President of the United States.
