Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club: MTV cancels LiLo's Mykonos show as club closes

If you were a fan of Lindsay Lohan’s MTV reality show, we have disappointing news for you. According to Page Six, “Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club,” will not be making its triumphant return for a second season.

And it’s not just the show that’s canceled. The Mean Girls star's Mykonos nightclub, where the show takes place, has also closed.

The nightclub only opened in May of last year. The show then premiered in January to good ratings but bad reviews. "The more Lohan attempts to stay above the drama that the show is built around, the more she reveals a sort of star power turned toxic, a gift at keeping us watching even as we wince," Variety wrote. The Hollywood Reporter called it "vapid and tedious."

The reviews for the actual club aren't much better. On TripAdvisor, one guest wrote, "Terrible waste of money and rude staff. Would not recommend to anyone," while another calls it, "Loud & cheesy just like Lindsay," complete with a vomiting emoji.

MTV had reportedly wanted to turn the show into a family affair, featuring Lindsay’s mother and sister. They also wanted a bit more drama, which she reportedly did not want to provide.

Luckily, the American version of Love Island is coming to fulfill your vacation-viewing schedule, along with The Hills reboot - another way to relive the noughties in all their low-rise denim glory.
