Line of Duty and Bodyguard boss Jed Mercurio took a break from teasing us about 'H' to work on a new drama called Bloodlands, a crime thriller set in Northern Ireland and starring Cold Feet's James Nesbitt.

The trailer for the show just dropped, teasing the moody environments and a little bit of the plot.

What is that plot? Well, it all kicks off when a car is discovered containing a potential suicide note. Nesbitt's police detective Tom Brannick discovers that it is connected not only to an infamous unsolved investigation and a legendary assassin, but to his own life.

"In '98 a handful of us were made aware of an assassin, we called him Goliath," Brannick said in the teaser, before he reveals the murderer also took the life of his wife.

As well as Nesbitt, the cast features some familiar faces, including former Emmerdale star Asan N'Jie, Derry Girls and Game of Thrones' Ian McElhinney, Top Boy's Lisa Dwan, and more.

Speaking about the drama just before the filming began, Nesbitt said: "It’s great to be back making a drama in and about Northern Ireland, which now has a film and television industry as good as any in the world.
