EastEnders actress Susan Tully directed the latest episode of Line Of Duty.
Tully played the role of Michelle Fowler for ten years from 1985 to 1995, played a pivotal role in the nail biting penultimate episode of the hit BBC crime drama.
Following the shocking and gruesome death of undercover officer John Corbett, played by Stephen Graham, the latest instalment saw the tables turn on Superintendent Ted Hastings when he was taken in for questioning.
It has also been revealed that Tully directed the 90 minute final episode.
As they prepare for the last episode of the current series, viewers are expecting to finally find out the truth about ‘H’.
During an appearance on This Morning, the Lisa McQueen actress told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “It will certainly have some form of conclusion but as you’re all aware there’s still another series to go.”
However, Line of Duty isn’t the only show Tully has worked on.
The actress, whose EastEnders character was recast and played by Jenna Russell when Michelle returned to Walford in 2016, has also worked on Silent Witness, Lark Rise To Candleford, The Musketeers and The A Word.
After spotting her name on the credits as the latest episode came to an end, viewers were quick to share their thoughts on social media.
“I love that tonight’s #LineOfDuty has been directed by Sue Tully aka the original Michelle Fowler!,” wrote one.
