The BBC has dropped the first trailer for Vigil, a brand-new drama from the makers of Line of Duty, featuring a host of familiar faces
Starring Gentleman Jack's Suranne Jones, Peep Show's Paterson Joseph, Endeavour's Shaun Evans, Sex Education's Connor Swindells, Bodyguard's Anjli Mohindra, Game of Thrones' Rose Leslie and Stephen Dillane, and the aforementioned Line of Duty's Martin Compston among others, Vigil looks like it will be a must-watch series when it comes to BBC One later this year.
The thriller focuses on an investigation into the disappearance of a fishing trawler and a death on-board the titular submarine. As you'd expect from Line of Duty production company World Productions, this all ties into a conspiracy that goes deep (pun not intended).
Looking at the trailer, it seems like Suranne Jones' investigator is being set up by her superiors — is one of them H? — while the submarine itself looks like it will be quite the claustrophobia and paranoia-inducing environment.
Plus we're just happy to see Martin Compston again now that Line of Duty series 6 has come to an end.
Vigil is set to air later this year on BBC One and iPlayer, but a release window is currently unknown.
