Line of Duty has had viewers on the edge of their seats since it came back for series 4 back in March, and episode 4 tonight (April 16) was just as seat-edgy as ever.

There was the nail-biting answer to whether DS Steve Arnott would survive after last week's rather nasty fall, some serious manipulation of just about everyone by Roz Huntley and a whole lot of tension

Warning: This article obviously contains spoilers for Line of Duty series 4, episode 4 – you have been warned.

After last week's shock twist ending that left Steve in a pool of his own blood at the bottom of a staircase, viewers were understandably relieved to see him alive – if not well.

In fact, some Steve Arnott fans thought it must be an Easter miracle.

There was a lot of discussion of Hastings' ever-increasing use of the word "fella".

No-one was exactly shocked that Roz chose to lie to her husband Nick about what she was up to on the night of Infield's murder. (Reminder: killing him).

But viewers were pretty shocked when she went as far as to slap him later in the episode.

Fans got a dark kick out of Roz turning on Kate and Co in the lengthy interrogation scene.

And, in the final twist of the evening, PC Maneet Bindra turned on her usual reliable character and betrayed the AC-12 gang – leaving viewers really bloody confused.

So, to sum it up neatly:

Line of Duty continues April 23 at 9pm on BBC One.
