Line Forms at Brooklyn COVID Testing Van

New Yorkers reported long lines at COVID-19 testing sites as cases rose across the city ahead of the holidays.

Twitter user Beyza chronicled her wait at a testing site on Parkside Avenue in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning. She said that by the time she received her PCR test, the line was “around the block.”

For four consecutive days, New York City broke its own daily positivity case rate record, officials said. Mayor Bill de Blasio said discussions were “ongoing” regarding the planned Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, and that a decision about the event would be made by Christmas.
