Linkin Park filmed an episode of Carpool Karaoke just a few days before lead singer Chester Bennington died.

The band finished shooting an episode of the comedy show with actor Ken Jeong last Friday, posting photos from set on their official Twitter account.

“Fun day with @kenjeong @CarpoolKaraoke @AppleMusic - stay tuned,” they captioned the behind-the-scenes snap.

Bennington, 41, was found dead on Thursday at the Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles in what is being investigated as a possible suicide.

The Hangover star Jeong, who hosted the episode of the new spin-off show, based on James Corden’s Late Late Show segment, paid tribute to Bennington on Friday morning.

“I am in shock and heartbroken. All my thoughts and prayers go out to Chester and his family and friends at this time,” he wrote on Twitter.

Bennington’s fellow bandmates Mike Shinoda and Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell said they had been left “heartbroken” by the news of his death.

They paid tribute to the performer by posting a picture of him on stage surrounded by a sea of lights as fans held up their phones.

The date of Bennington's death, July 20, also marks what would have been the 53rd birthday of his close friend Chris Cornell, who died in May this year.
