One of New Zealand’s most exciting prospects has been added to the All Blacks set-up before the Second Test in Wellington on Saturday.

Electric Chiefs playmaker Damian McKenzie has been called up for the All Blacks as a replacement for Ben Smith, who left the field midway through the first half with concussion.

Smith had already missed part of the season with concussion but returned to captain the All Blacks in the 78-0 demolition of Samoa.

McKenzie, who has two caps, comes in as a full-back but is seen long-term as a back-up fly-half to Beauden Barrett - he started at 10 for the Maori All Blacks earlier in the tour.

All Blacks centre Ryan Crotty has also been ruled out of the Second Test, having injured his hamstring. He was lucky to be included in the First Test, having had rib problems.

Young centre Jack Goodhue has been training with the side but will now come into contention, with head coach Steve Hansen saying: “Jack will be staying with us and we will try to get Ryan ready maybe for the last Test if we’re lucky.”
