Watch: Lisa Kudrow and Lady Gaga perform Smelly Cat
Lisa Kudrow has confessed she had to resort to a Google search before she could play Smelly Cat again during the recent Friends reunion special.
The actor behind Central Perk's singer in residence, Phoebe Buffay, was joined by Lady Gaga and a gospel choir for a unique take on her most famous song.
But Kudrow revealed on The Ellen Show that it took more than muscle memory for her to snap back into performance mode as Phoebe.
"I was really nervous when I first heard [about the performance]. Then, I prepared," said Kudrow.
She added: "I realised I had to learn Smelly Cat again. And I tuned my guitar, and then realised I don't know the chords, but I Googled it.
"All the chords were there. Yeah, so, thank you world for posting the chords.
"So, I learned it and then my throat closed. I was so panicked, I couldn't get anything out. I didn't know what was going to happen. But, it worked out."
Gaga's appearance was one of many memorable celebrity cameos in the reunion special — aired in the US on HBO Max and via Sky in the UK — which reunited all six of the central Friends cast members.
As well as Gaga, the show featured Justin Bieber and Cara Delevingne, who both got in on the action in a selection of questionable outfits.
Friends: The Reunion had been in the pipeline for several years, with plans afoot to make it happen last year before the coronavirus pandemic forced plans to be shelves.
The best laid plans finally became a reality last month when the long-awaited special made it to the air.
It was an emotional experience for the cast, with Courteney Cox revealing that tears were shed when the show's stars returned to the set of Monica's apartment.
The reaction from fans has been largely positive, though many were unhappy at the choice of James Corden to host the special.
